THIS WEEK WE RECEIVED SOME BAD NEWS.....
To those who faithfully pray, and give and support us in so many ways, we have been hit with a significant financial blow.
As residents for tax purposes in Canada, we have been eligible and have benefited from the Canadian Child Benefit (baby bonus). This benefit has been part of our personal income from the beginning of our journey, helping us with the costs of living here in Brazil, feeding, and clothing and educating our two kids.
In short, making it possible for us to be here and do what we do.
I’ve often thought, ‘Without that money we would be dead in the water’.
That day has come. This week we learned that although missionaries working overseas are entitled to collect that benefit, they can only do so for five years. We are in year six.
That leaves us in a very critical situation. Which is why I am writing this appeal.
The Canadian government is very generous to those who are considered to be living below the poverty line, and our personal income qualifies as just that.
In order for us to continue here in Brazil, we need to replace the personal income we are losing with the loss of that benefit.
We are gaining momentum here with the ministry, we are building a team and awareness within the city, and of course deep relationships with the women, but things are not at the point that if we left they would carry on. That is our ultimate goal, but we aren’t there yet.
In order for this to continue, we need to continue to be here.
Please consider joining us in this work. As a monthly supporter you aren’t just getting a tax receipt you are a part of a team that is helping us to continue walking out what we feel in our hearts God has called us to do.
Currently, the majority of our support comes from individuals, so if you are thinking whatever small amount you can give won’t make a difference, those individual donations make up 70% of our monthly donations. 70% is a VERY big difference.
For our current monthly supporters, we ask that you would prayerfully consider increasing your monthly giving.
We are not blind to the fact that every time we take a step forward in this ministry we are hit with some kind of attack. This is another one, the enemy really doesn’t want us here breaking chains and freeing captives.

or 16 new partners at $50/month
or 32 partners at $25/month.
Of course we welcome more than the above but this is what we currently need to be able to continue. The more we raise the more we are able to do in the ministry.
